Classical guitarist and composer Arina Burceva holds MM degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied under the tutelage of Sergio Assad, Dusan Bogdanovic and David Tanenbaum. She has performed extensively and taught master classes in the United States, South America and Canada. Her works for guitar are published in the USA by the Clear Note Publications.
Born in Sumy, Ukraine, Arina started her musical education with the violin and was introduced to classical guitar at the age of 9 by Marina Azar. She was the first prize winner of the National Zhinovic Classical Guitar Competition. Upon immigrating to the USA in 2002, Arina won the first prize at the Schubert Club Scholarship Competition and was awarded a scholarship at the San Francisco Conservatory.
As a soloist and in collaboration with other artists, Arina has performed at such venues as Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, Helsingor Theatre in Arhus, Denmark, Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston, Jamaica, Washington Pavillon in Sioux Falls, Miraflores Auditorium in Lima, Peru, Teatro Municipal in Arica, Chile, just to name a few. She has been featured on radio, television and in the written press.
Arina's personal style of composition combines elements of classical, contemporary and world music.
Arina currently resides in Santa Clara, California.
