Talented young classical guitarist, Arina Burceva has delighted numerous audiences with her performances. She has been featured at guitar festivals in USA and Mexico, appeared on public radio and television, played for the Governor of California and for the U.S. President, performed with the symphony orchestra. Her repertoire spans centuries of music and boasts a variety of jewels, including original compositions.
Arina was born in 1982 in Sumy, Ukraine and started her musical education firstly with violin. She began playing classical guitar at the age of 8, studying with Marina Azar. She won her first national guitar competition at the age of 11, with many awards to follow, including First Prizes at 1996 Zhinovic competition in Belarus and 2003 Schubert Club Scholarship competition in USA.
Arina holds a diploma in classical guitar performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied on scholarship with the world-renowned guitarists David Tanenbaum and Dusan Bogdanovic. She has also studied at Glinka College of Music in Belarus with Vladimir Belyshev, has taken lessons from Christopher Kachian, Marc Teicholz and Franco Platino, performed in masterclasses for such artists as Aniello Desiderio, William Kanengiser and Nigel North.
Ms. Burceva lives now in San Francisco, California.
